  1. Take 500 g chicken
  2. Make ready 500 g rice
  3. Prepare 2 tbsp oil

  8. Get 200 g yogurt

  14. Prepare 4 cloves
  15. Take 2 Cinaman
  16. Take 7/8 green cardamom

  18. Prepare 2/3 bay leaf
  19. Make ready 2 red chilies
  20. Get as needed Coriander leaves for garnishing chopped
  21. Prepare as needed Mint leaves for garnishing copped
  22. Take 1 cup Grated coconut
  23. Get 2/3 pinch saffron
  24. Get 2 tsp milk

Instructions to make Biryani:
  1. First, to marinate the chicken, take 500g chicken in a bowl, add salt, Turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, coriander powder,cumin powder, little oil, add 2 tspGinger garlic paste, 200g yogurt, some coriander and mint leaves and mix it well. And put this in freezer for 2 hours. Also soak 2/3 pinch saffron in milk and keep aside
  2. For making rice, put the pan on heat, add 1 tsp oil, then add cumin, cloves, bayleaf, 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste,salt and stir well, then add 500g rice and mix it well. Add warm water for boiling the rice, cook until rice get 80% cooked.
  3. Take the half chopped onions and fry them until get brown and crispy. It will goes top on biryani.
  4. Then take a large handi, turn on the flame, add 1 large tablespoon of oil, add some bayleaf, star anise, cardmoms, cinnamon stick and mix well, then add rest of onions and finely chopped tomato and cook until they get brown. Then add marinated chicken and mix it well. Add boiled rice over chicken. Add soaked saffron over the rice, it will give colour also.
  5. For garnishing spread coriander leaves, mint leaves, grated coconut and fried onions evenly over the rice and put the lid on handi. Place handi on tawa. 15 min for high flame, 15 minutes for low flame.
  6. Then switch off the flame. Biryani is ready,serve hot with raita.
