The ingredients needed to make Chicken Dum Biryani:

  2. Get 250 gm chicken
  3. Prepare 6-7 big onions thinely sliced
  4. Take 4-5 tomatoes puried
  5. Prepare 1 tsp Biryani masala
  6. Prepare 1 tbsp Onion garlic masala
  7. Make ready 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  8. Make ready 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  9. Make ready as needed Oil for frying onion
  10. Get 3 tbsp Oil for gravy
  11. Prepare 100 gm curd
  12. Take to taste Salt as per taste
  13. Prepare For Rice
  14. Prepare 250 gms Long grain biryani rice

  16. Get as needed Oil
  17. Prepare Bay leaf 2-3
  18. Take 1-2 Green Cardamom
  19. Take 1/2 inch Cinnamon stick
  20. Take 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  21. Prepare as needed Food colour optional

  23. Prepare 2 tbsp Whole spices
  24. Get as needed Ghee
  25. Take as needed Mint and coriander chopped finely
Steps to make Chicken Dum Biryani:
  1. Marinate chicken with 1/2 tspoon turmeric powder and 1 Tspoon ginger garlic paste for half hr.
  2. Till then fry sliced onions till turning brown and keep them aside.
  3. And and oil in pot and put cumin seeds, cinnamon stick,bay leaf and cardamom then add water for cooking rice. Bring it to boil. Then add rice. Add colour if wanted. Drain rice after rice is 1/3rd cooked
  4. Take a pan. Add some oil and add marinated chicken to it. Add salt as per paste. Let it cook for some time. After chicken got cooked, remove it in plate and in same pan add oil. To oil first add 3/4 of fried onion slices and ginger garlic paste. Let it saute well. Then add all powdered masala and tomato puri to it. Let it cook well. Then add chicken add curd. And mix well and keep on flame for 2 min.
  5. For layering take Pan Or pot. At base add all gravy. After gravy make a layer of rice. Then sprinkle fried onions and mint and coriander chopped. Then in tadka pan add some desi ghee and all whole spice. Immediately add this tadka all over the layer. Cover the pot with aluminium foil. Them put cover utensil on it. And keep on low flame for 10-15 mins more.
